Hayden's Music Program

The kindergarten had a end of the year music program where they sang different nursery ryhmes and changed them up a little. The kids all dressed up as different characters, Hayden dressed as the mouse that ran up the clock in Hickory Dickory Dock. There were a lot of different characters accounted for in the music program and they did a great job - it was so much fun to watch. Hayden was very excited about dressing up especially with his tail.

Rylie

Rylie turned two months old on Wednesday -the day we left for Austin. She and Ryder go to the dr. for their 2 month and 18 month checkup next week. We weighed her at Stephanie and Karrolls house and she was 10 lbs. She is doing great. After she had her hard start in NICU for the first 5 days they got her all better on the oxyhood and things and now she is growing like a weed. She is holding her head up pretty good for her age and just goes along with all the business we take her to. Karate, tumbling, and t-ball. What a good sport she is.

Weekend

We had a very good, busy weekend. It started wednesday afternoon we left for Austin. On Thursday we went to the Capital building and to the childrens museum. The capital building was so fun to see, Hayden really enjoyed it. They had been studing Texas the week or two before we left. The capital grounds were pretty torn up from the storm that happened Wednesday night. There were several trees uprooted and many more with broken limbs. We did not see any broken windows but the news reported it. The grounds people were working very hard to get it cleaned back up. We had a picnic after the capital building at a near by park and Hayden and Kyrstn really enjoyed that, there were several pigeons around so they fed them some bread then tried catching them and then played on a big tree that was close. They even go to see the homeless people because apparently we ate at the park where they rest and things. We had a couple of people come up to us asking for drinks and they had never seen people do that before - it was a good experience for them. We thanked God for providing us with extras and for protection. There was one guy that even drew a picture for us of a little girl and boy playing on a tree - I think maybe it was Hayden and Kyrstn but not sure. Hayden got to spend the night with Sarah and Davis Thursday night. Davis, my brother-in-law, graduated from pharmacy school and we are all very excited about that. Now they are going to be moving to Lubbock. Davis will start his job with Covenant in June. We just went to the graduation on Friday morning that was just the pharmacy graduates. It was very nice and just long enough for the kids - much longer and I don't think they could have handled it. After graduation we went to eat at Salt Lick BBQ. It was very good BBQ - a long way from where we were though - we thought we were not going to make it. We finally did and had a good time. After that we went over to Stephanie and Karrolls to visit with them. What a good time we had. All the kids loved playing with each other and it was so nice since they are all about the same age. Major is so cute and doing very well. He just scoots around as fast as he can. While we were there he was wanting to walk around. They said he has not been trying to walk around that much. While we were there we met June and Greg - they are very nice people. We stayed there for a while then went over to Sarah and Davis so that Kyrstn could spend the night with them. We went back over to their apt Saturday morning and had lunch and picked up Kyrstn the headed to Dallas to visit Russell's uncle Ronny and his family. We had a nice visit with them Saturday night, Sunday and left Monday. The kids really enjoyed it because they have a pool and got to go swimming right after we got there and almost all day on Sunday. We headed home Monday since Russell had to get back to work - no more vacation days and Hayden needed to get back to kindergarten since they have 6 days left. Alvin

During the Easter season we went up to visit my granny at the nursing home. They had an Easter egg hunt and gave some prizes for the kids. Hayden won a duck and named him Alvin. We stopped at a local feed store and picked up 3 chickens for Kyrstn, Ryder and Rylie. I think they got named Simon, Theodore and Dave. The kids have had a lot of fun with them since then. They are much bigger now - except for Alvin which died a couple weeks ago from the weather.

Garden

We planted most of our garden last weekend. Then this past week we got 4.25 inches of rain. So God really watered our garden for us. Then Ryder the other day went over and started playing in the mud. He really had a good time.

Another Game

The kids had another game today. It was really windy and dirty - blowing dirt really bad. But the kids played really well today - better than they have before. Hopefully they do not need windy weather to play that well. These pictures are from the previous game. The weather then was really nice. They did not play well at that game but they did play the same team as today.

T-Ball

Hayden and Kyrstn are playing T-Ball this year. They had the opening ceremony a couple weeks ago. They had their first game Saturday. They had a pretty good time and they all did a good job considering it is the first time for most of the team to play and the head coaches first year also.

Christmas Play

These are from the Christmas play at church. It was called the Bethlehem Nightly News. Hayden was Joseph and Kyrstn was an angel.

Hayden Basketball

Hayden participated in the Antelopes in motion during basketball season. They would practice once a week and performed in the girls games half time. They also got to perform at a lady raiders game. These pictures are from the lady raiders game. They learned basic basketball drill - dribbling, around the world, figure 8, spider and a few more. He enjoyed it for the most part.

Hayden's kindergarten was studing the letter V and got to make volcanos at home and take them to school to watch them erupt. He really enjoyed that. Russell helped him build it and they enjoyed that together.

This is the first time Hayden got to see her. He stayed at school and then Nana Sheree brought him up to the hospital after school. He got there right before they decided to take her to NICU. So the Dr. let the nurse bring her by the room so he could see her. He was very happy to see her.

This is the first time I got to hold her other than the minute I got to hold her after they got her cleaned up after she was born.

This is the first bottle we got to feed her. She had a feeding tube for a little while.

I don't have any pictures of Kyrstn or Ryder seeing her. They only got to see her as they were taking her from the delivery room to the nursery.

Rylie

We have a new member of our family now. Rylie was born on March 14. She was 6lbs 6oz. She had a little problems at the beginning with some fluid on her lungs. We spent about 5 days in NICU so she could be under an oxyhood to help clear her lungs. She is doing very well now growing and adjusting. Hayden & Kyrstn were a little sad while she was in the hospital because they could not see her. Kyrstn got to see her on her as she went from the labor room to the nursery. Hayden was at school when she was born but he did get to see her as they took her to NICU. That was a little hard for Hayden. Hayden loves her and wants to hold her as soon as he gets home from school. Kyrstn thinks she is the mom and I am the little helper. She trys so hard to be the mom/helper of both Ryder and Rylie. Ryder is getting much better. He was not sure at first since he did not get to be the baby for long. Now he has accepted it and comes up to her and gives her hugs and kisses.

We are looking into getting internet at our house so maybe there will be some pictures up soon of our newest cute little addition.

Doctor

I went to a new doctor on Wednesday for my 24 week check up. The doctor seemed very nice and like he cared which was good. He did an unofficial sonogram and said he is about 90% sure that we are going to have a girl. Kyrstn was very excited when she heard him say that. She got a huge smile on her face. He printed 3 pictures for us to take home and before we got out of the room she told me she needed her pictures of her baby sister. Russell is excited also - he just was happy the doctor did a sonogram to make sure everything was ok because the last doctor did not really seem to care to much. Everything looked healthy so we are thankful for that.

Birthday Party

Hayden and Kyrstn had a roller skating party with some their friends. It was pretty fun they really enjoyed skating, that was the first time for both. The roller rink also had little scooters and push toys for the little ones to play on.

First tooth

Hayden and Ryder both had their first tooth during the same week. Hayden lost his first tooth and Ryder finally got his first tooth, he has two now. I thought that was pretty neat.
